AGF, in partnership with Corsim, is making significant strides in the construction of a new residential development at 1330 Carling Ave. in Ottawa. The project, currently in Phase 2, involves the construction of three residential towers reaching 23, 25, and nine stories respectively. AGF is responsible for supplying and installing nearly 3,000 metric tons of rebar across the three buildings.

“Our team has achieved outstanding productivity, with several floors already completed in record time,”an AGF representative said in a Nov. 25 statement.

“According to Corsim, Building D has been the fastest building out of the ground in their entire history. Initially, the completion of Building D was planned for late January 2025, but at our current pace, we expect to finish by the end of November 2024—two months ahead of schedule. This achievement also allows us to speed up the timelines for Towers A and B, now expected to be structurally completed by June 2025 instead of August.”

“The success of this rapid progress on Building D is the result of close coordination with all subcontractors, a highly effective on-site team, and careful planning, allowing us to meet and even exceed deadlines without slowing work on Buildings A and B.” AGF said in its statement.

With an average team of 12 to 13 rebar placers—where the typical workforce for this type of project would usually be 15 to 18 workers—we optimized our staffing and increased productivity, creating a win-win scenario for AGF, the formwork contractor, and our client, Corsim.”
