A new supported living home is now open in Oro-Medonte, northeast of Barrie.
The 6,000-sq. ft. building will provide housing and services for up to six individuals with have complex needs.
“In partnership with the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services, and MacKenzie Health, cutting the ribbon on Lakeshore Ridge is a tangible reminder of our mission to empower people to lead a meaningful and inclusive life by providing the highest quality of services,” says Empower Simcoe CEO, Dr. Claudine Cousins.
Along with the funding from the Ontario government, private foundations, corporations, area service clubs and the general public, the Empower Simcoe Foundation’s raised $250,000 to assist with the purchase of furniture, landscaping, and décor for the home.
