Barrie wants ideas for waterfront strategy

The City of Barrie is updating theĀ 2015 Waterfront and Marina Strategic Plan, and invites ideas from the public.

A virtual public meeting will take place on Wed., June 22, from 2 to 3:30 p.m. and 6 to 7:30 p.m.

Register in advance for one of the meeting times by using the registration link on theĀ Building Barrie website. Information regarding a follow-up survey will be provided at the meeting and updated atĀ buildingbarrie.ca/WaterfrontPlan.

The project team, consisting of city staff and a consultant will hold meetings will include stakeholders including the Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority, Barrie Accessibility Advisory Committee, and local Indigenous groups.

A public information centre (PIC) meeting was held March 24. Feedback from the first PIC meeting and survey, as well as the input gathered from the second public meeting and consultation, will be included in a staff report that will go to city council in early 2023.
