Bird Construction has secured three major project awards totaling more than $525 million, further strengthening its position in both the buildings and infrastructure sectors.

One of the headline projects is the Transportation Safety and Technology Science (TSTS) Hub, a 120,000-square-foot facility to be built in Ottawa. Designed to support advancements in transportation safety, the hub will consolidate laboratories from the National Research Council and the Transportation Safety Board.

In Edmonton, the company will lead construction of the Beverly Heights Seniors Housing project, a development tailored to accommodate the full continuum of careโ€”from independent living to long-term careโ€”and is strategically aligned with the increasing demand for senior housing as Canadaโ€™s population ages.

Also, Bird, through a joint venture, has been selected for a significant mining infrastructure upgrade. Spanning four years, the project involves extensive site preparation, including clearing, foundation work, placement of over two million cubic meters of fill, and the installation of HDPE geomembranes and monitoring instruments. The scope highlights Birdโ€™s technical expertise and capacity within the resource sector.

โ€œThese recent awards in our buildings and infrastructure businesses reflect the sustained demand weโ€™re seeing across our key strategic markets, despite the current economic uncertainty,โ€ said Teri McKibbon, President and CEO of Bird Construction.

โ€œFurthermore, they reflect the confidence our clients continue to place in Bird as an established and trusted delivery partner, valuing our deep sector experience and collaborative approach to project execution.โ€
