A building framer who fell from a roof while working on a project in The Town of The Blue Mountains last week has died in a London hospital.

Mike Groulx, owner of Groulx Construction, suffered a fractured and brain hemorrhage after falling from a garage roof Feb. 22. He was taken by ambulance to Victoria Hospital here he had brain surgery. He died Mar. 1.

“Mike did everything he could to try to stay with us but the injuries were just too severe,” stated an update on the page. “Family and friends take some solace in the fact that Mike donated his organs, giving him the opportunity to save up to eight lives.”

Relatives and friends created a GoFundMe page and as of this morning (March 9), more than $57,200 had been raised to pay funeral costs and to help support Groulx’s wife Charlotte and their 22-month-old son, Damon.

The Ministry of Labour is investigating the incident and has issued one requirement and two orders to contractor Calibrex Developments. Two requirements were also issued to the subcontractor, Kingsview Carpentry.
