You can place the certificate and notification advertisements as required by the Ontario Construction Act, while fulfilling the legal definition of a “newspaper” under the Legislation Act (2006), quickly and economically by following these simple instructions.
Our rates are significantly lower than you have been paying previously. We have a simple flat rate of $249.00 plus HST, regardless of notice length.
You have the choice of completing the information through an online form yourself, or emailing/faxing us the standard government form (which you can download from our site). The advantage of the online form is a slight advantage of speed if you are completing the form shortly before the 5:00 p.m. deadline the day before publication, and your ability to control the process. However, we’re happy to do the data entry work for you at no extra cost, and will provide a proof to you for same day return, if you send in the documentation by 4:00 p.m. We’ll publish it in the next day’s issue if you return the signed proof by 5:00 p.m. to

- Once you’ve confirmed the proof is okay, we’ll publish your ad/notice the next business day and post it on our searchable notice page. We’ll then send you a copy of the ad with the certificate to confirm the publication date for your records, along with the final invoice.
- Please check the ad to make sure it is right. While we take care and review the ads before publication, you will want to ensure that everything is correct right away after the advertisement is published.

Generally the new Ontario Construction Act applies for projects which started or were in the prebid/qualification stage (whichever is earlier) after July 1, 2018. There are other conditions, including special provisions for leaseholds, and you should consult with a qualified lawyer to understand and implement the rules.
