CIMA+, a leading Canadian consulting engineering firm, has received the Megaproject Award at the 2024 FIDIC Global Infrastructure Conference in Geneva. The International Federation of Consulting Engineers (FIDIC) organizes the event to recognize significant achievements in infrastructure.
The award was presented for CIMA+’s role in the South Shore segment of the Réseau express métropolitain (REM) project, part of a broader effort to improve transportation between downtown Montreal and the South Shore with a focus on sustainability and automation. The REM project is the only Canadian initiative to receive this recognition.
Denis Thivierge, president and CEO of CIMA+, said the company’s work on the REM project involved more than 250 professionals and innovative management strategies. “The project is expected to cut greenhouse gas emissions by 16,800 tons annually and provides significant social and economic benefits,” Thivierge said. “This award highlights our commitment to impactful, sustainable solutions.”
CIMA+ also acknowledged CDPQ Infra for its support and thanked partners Hatch, SETEC Canada, STGM Architecture, and LEGICO for their contributions to the project’s success.
Founded in 1990, CIMA+ offers consulting engineering services in Energy and Resources, Infrastructure, Transportation, Buildings, and Project Management.
