Construction Industry well represented in nominations for Niagara’s Business Achievement Awards

Niagara’s construction industry has made a good showing in nominations for the Greater Niagara Chamber of Commerce’s annual Business Achievement Awards this June. The Niagara Industrial Association (NIA) reports that eight of its members are nominees.

Up for Outstanding New Business is Canvas Engineering Ltd, a structural engineering and project management firm based in St. Catharines. Canvas was founded in 2017, and though the company is locally based, it has helped clients as far flung as Nova Scotia and Alberta. Canvas offers design, rehabilitation of concrete structures, and technical support.

G.T.G. Engineering Canada Inc. is up for Excellence in Business in the 11-50 employee category. G.T.G. manufactures LLFA tape that seals, repairs and insulates for projects ranging from plumbing to telecom.

Receiving a bestowed award is local Roy Timms of Timbro Design/Build Contractors. Timms will be taking home the Civic Appreciation Award recipient, which is presented to an individual who demonstrates an outstanding commitment to helping build a stronger, more prosperous and vibrant community.

This year’s awards night is presented by presented by Meridian Credit Union. The awards will be handed out June 20.
