Construction is underway on a new 96-bed long-term care home in Deep River. This project benefits from the recently extended Construction Funding Subsidy top-up program, part of Ontario’s broader initiative to add over 58,000 new and upgraded long-term care beds across the province.
The general contractor on the project is Frecon Construction Ltd.
“Congratulations to the team at Deep River and District Health on starting this new home. Our government is committed to enhancing long-term care and building homes for seniors in the communities they’ve contributed to,” said Natalia Kusendova-Bashta, Minister of Long-Term Care.
The Four Seasons Lodge will replace a 14-bed facility with 86 new and 10 upgraded beds and is expected to start welcoming residents in early 2027. Designed to modern standards, the new facility will be fully air-conditioned and feature three “resident home areas” designed for a more personalized living experience, each accommodating up to 32 residents with dining, activity spaces, lounges, and bedrooms.
Located next to the Deep River and District Hospital, the Lodge will be part of a campus of care, integrating it into the broader healthcare system for easier access to necessary services.
The redeveloped home will be operated by Deep River and District Health.
As of July 31, 111 projects totaling 18,215 new and redeveloped beds are either completed, under construction, or approved. The government aims to build 58,000 new and upgraded long-term care beds as part of its plan to address sector waitlists.
