Construction is underway on the redevelopment of Pine Villa Care Centre, a 224-bed long-term care home in Stoney Creek. The new four-storey facility will offer updated living spaces and expanded services for seniors as part of the provinceโ€™s ongoing effort to improve long-term care across Ontario.

The project, which received funding through the Construction Funding Subsidy top-up, is designed to provide modern, comfortable accommodations while supporting enhanced quality of life for residents. The redeveloped home will feature seven Resident Home Areas (RHAs), each with its own dining, lounge, and activity areas to create a more familiar and community-oriented environment.

In addition to improved living quarters, the new care centre will include a range of programming and amenities. These include fitness classes, music and horticulture therapy, creative arts, volunteer and pet therapy programs, and access to computers, library services, and educational workshops. Multi-faith services will also be available on-site.

Pine Villa Care Centre is expected to reopen in 2027.

The redevelopment is part of the Ontario governmentโ€™s broader commitment to build and upgrade 58,000 long-term care beds across the province. The initiative, outlined in the 2025 Ontario Budget: A Plan to Protect Ontario, aims to ensure that residents have access to quality care close to home.
