Detail Of Services: The R.H. Saunders Generating Station is a 16 unit hydroelectric generating station on the St Lawrence River in Cornwall, Ontario. The Station will be undergoing a major generator overhaul project which will include disassembly, refurbishment, replacement, and re-assembly of the major components of the station. Prior to starting the overhaul work, all of the critical lifting devices, jigs, and work platforms need to be inspected, refurbished, repaired, certified and in some cases, they will need to be replaced. The generating station has custom lifting devices dating back to the construction of the station in the 1950s and in many cases the engineering analysis associated with those devices is not available. There are also platforms, jigs, and lifting devices that have been developed over the life of the station that are in various states of repair with and without drawings available. The objective for OPG, prior to starting the overhauls, is to ensure that every custom lifting device, jig, or platform has a drawing and an engineering analysis demonstrating that it is safe to use. All devices should also have undergone non-destructive examination and been recoated and clearly marked with the name of the device and where appropriate, the capacity.

The Town of Essex is seeking Tenders for the supply and application of 100% crushed dolomite stone, and the material shall meet the requirements of the Ontario Provincial Standard Specification (OPSS) 1010, material specifications for Granular “M” 0 – 5/8 ’’material and shall have a minimum bulk relative density of 2.7. The successful tenderer shall provide the Operations Department with a gradation sample, as well as sieve analysis from a registered geo-technical consultant prior to the acceptance of the tender. This report shall also include a recent Bulk Relative Density test taken from 2021. The Operations Department reserves the right to periodically test any supplied material throughout the application time frame in order to ensure compliance with OPSS specs for the required material. Such material testing shall be paid for by the successful tenderer. Failure to comply with the requirements may result in non-payment for those portions of the material supplied that do not meet the required specifications. All work shall be completed in succession with no more than one day intervals (excluding weekends and holidays) between works on individual areas. The qualified tenderer shall submit the Tender based on the following information: 1. Haul and Spread Minimum of 1,400 tons per day. 2. Hoist dump Trailers will NOT be accepted. 3. Live Bottom Trailers will NOT be accepted. 4. Bottom Dump Trailers ONLY will be accepted.
