Work involves all things necessary to remove and dispose of excavated materials from land and by barge. The work related to dredging at the municipal marina in Port Franks is required to be completed in the approved dredging period in May 2022. The Municipality has received approval from the Conservation Authority and Fisheries and Oceans Canada; the permits are valid as of May 2nd, 2022 and expire on May 14th, 2022.The Municipality is awaiting Ontario Ministry of Northern Development, Mines, Natural Resources and Forestry approvals of the dates. PROVISIONAL – The second component of the work is upstream dredging in the Ausable River at Port Franks and the Ausable River Channel in Grand Bend. In the past these areas were approved for work in the July – October permitting period. These areas are PROVISIONAL items upon which the Municipality, at its sole discretion, will determine the extent, if any, of work required. The Municipality is awaiting Ontario Ministry of Northern Development, Mines, Natural Resources and Forestry approval of the 2022 dates. It is the Municipality’s expectation that this work in this area will occur early in the season and will be completed immediately upon the opening of the approved dates. Please note that this work includes both dredging and tree removal and the scope of work includes disposal of dredged or tree materials.
