Kingston City Hall Market Street Bridge Repairs

Detail Of Services: This Request for Proposals (the “RFP”) is an invitation by the City of Kingston (the “City”) to prospective proponents to submit proposals for City Hall Market St. Bridge Repairs as further described in Part 2 of the RFP Particulars (the “Deliverables”).Kingston City Hall is a National Historic Site of Canada with Municipal heritage designations under both Parts IV and V of the Ontario Heritage Act. The site is located at 216 Ontario Street, between Brock Street and Market Street, in the heart of Kingston’s historic downtown. It has continuously served as the seat of Municipal Government and Marketplace since it was originally completed in 1844. The City is in the process of obtaining the heritage permit for this project and will pay permit fees. The project will generally consist of structural repairs to the existing Market Street bridge along with concrete work repairs along the south-west end of the City Hall building in Kingston, ON. The Market St. bridge is the only accessible entrance to the ground floor of City Hall. The successful proponent will be responsible for constructing an accessible entrance into the Market Wing to maintain an accessible ground floor entrance throughout the duration of the repairs. The City is requesting pricing for both a temporary ramp and a permanent ramp. The preference is to proceed with the permanent ramp so long as budget allows.

Burlington Spencer Smith Park Shoreline Assets Condition Inspection & Repairs Engineering Services

Detail Of Services: The City of Burlington is seeking proposal submissions from qualified and experienced engineering consultants to carry out: Above and underwater detailed inspections and assessments of the Spencer Smith seawall and Brant Street Pier, and Detailed design for Spencer Smith seawall repairs. The detailed inspections will be conducted by a professional engineer on shore and by boat. The underwater inspections will be conducted by a qualified dive team under the direct supervision of a professional engineer who can certify the completeness and correctness of the work. The methodology for the inspections and assessments shall be in accordance with the Ontario Structure Inspection Manual (OSIM), plus some additional inspection criteria and deliverables that have been identified within the Terms of Reference. The detailed design will include the preparation of contract documents, obtaining permits and contract administration/ inspection for known deficiencies, including the replacement of raised pile caps, the addition of deflector plates to the steel sheet wall and concrete improvements in areas requiring repair. The successful consultant will also be tasked with, but not limited to, preparing a Tender package for issuance by City staff and providing part-time construction observation services.
