Cobourg Streetlight Maintenance Contract

  • Detail Of Services: The Town of Cobourg is looking to retain the services of a contractor for the purpose of maintaining streetlights including the supply of materials, vehicles, labour, and equipment. The Town owns approximately 2700 street lights of which approximately 90% are induction style fixtures. The Town is in the process of replacing failing induction light fixtures with LED fixtures on an as needed basis. It is anticipated that the annual failure rate of the induction lamps is between 5-8% or 150-200 lights per year. The successful proponent will be expected to respond to regular maintenance call outs and will require the contractor to be on-call for emergency maintenance work 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, and 365 days per year.The purpose of the Street Light Maintenance Contract is to have the Contractor replace the burned out induction fixtures with LED light fixtures. The Contractor will be responsible for maintaining inventory of parts required for regular maintenance of the street lights. On occasion and based on availability of annual budget, the Contractor may be requested to inspect aging infrastructure and provide recommendations for replacement timelines.An annual street light inspection by the Contractor is required to be completed with all deficiencies (outages) repaired annually.
