EllisDon is marking International Women’s Day (IWD) with a virtual event focused on breaking the bias. The event is happening today, Thurs., Mar. 10, at 3 p.m. Visit the website to register for the free event.
This year’s virtual event will feature EllisDon employee spotlights, guest speakers including a Paralympian, and a fireside chat with Geoff Smith, president and CEO, and Paul Trudel, senior vice president of people and culture.
Speakers will include:
Karolina Wisniewska
Karolina is a three-time Paralympian in para-alpine skiing and winner of eight Paralympic medals. She is assistant chef de mission for Team Canada at the 2022 Beijing Paralympic Winter Games and a manager at Game Plan, Canada’s holistic athlete wellness program
Chinyere Johnson, assistant project manager within the Toronto Building Group.
Chinyere has over eight years of ICI construction project management experience and an architectural background.
Daniela Teixeira Xavier, health, safety and environmental coordinator
In 2018 Daniela was given the opportunity to work for EllisDon in the civil division, is currently working towards her NCSO designation and has moved from civil to the corporate team. She also volunteers with 2gether and WomanAct.
Lorinda Spencer, assistant superintendent
Lorinda currently works on EllisDon’s Oakridge redevelopment project and has over 12 years experience in construction and associated industries. She joined EllisDon seven years ago as a safety coordinator before becoming an assistant superintendent.
