EllisDon director recognized for volunteer work

Ashwin Vadivelu, director of strategy and origination, EllisDon Community Builders, has been recognized for his work at the Canadian Tamil Professionals Association (CTPA) and Hope4Child, a non-profit organization that works to create bright futures for vulnerable children in Sri Lanka.

Ashwin was recently named to Top 30 Under 30 list by the Tamil Canadian Center for Civic Actions mission is to work towards the success of all Tamil Canadians in the social, political, economic and cultural spheres of Canada through education, documentation, engagement, training, mobilization, research, policy change and collaboration.

“I know that the immense privilege I’ve had to receive an education and pursue a career here in Canada did not come without the sacrifice and loss borne by my parents and our Tamil community — I will always be grateful,” Vadivelu said in a statement. “I look forward to continuing my work in improving the landscape and opportunities for our community in Canada and, North/East Sri Lanka.”
