EllisDon’s virtual, design and construction (VDC) team has been nominated for three Building Transformations’ 2022 Innovation Spotlight Awards for their work on Mathison Hall, Trillium Health Long Term Care Facilities, and the Royal Columbian Hospital Redevelopment Phase 2.

The Innovation Spotlight Awards, formerly CanBIM, are presented each year to recognize the industry’s most innovative companies and professionals and highlight trends and the technological evolution of Building Transformations’ top member firms.

ellisdonMathison Hall is nominated in the construction management category as a prime example of the power of the BIM approach and the advantages of digital project delivery. According to EllisDon, the project “demonstrates the value of digital delivery when the construction manager takes the lead in technology implementation by fostering productive and meaningful relationships between all stakeholders.”

Trillium Health Long-Term Care Facilities is nominated for the digital supply chain and fabrication award. EllisDon developed the modular construction to accelerate the build and applied BIM capabilities in coordinating and prefabricating the modular rooms off-site. This type of modular prefabrication and detailed coordination with conventionally built scope enabled an efficient installation of all MEP services in Trillium Health Partners long term care facilities.

EllisDon’s Royal Columbian Hospital redevelopment phase 2 is nominated in the project delivery, asset management and lifecycle category, for digital asset data, which enabled EllisDon to review platforms and finalize “dRofus”, the leading planning and data management tool used to build a digital twin of assets.

Winners will be announced in December at Building Transformations’ annual Innovation Spotlight Awards Presentation.
