A diversity of eastern Ontario businesses collected trophies for their residential design achievements at the 36th annual Greater Ottawa Home Builders’ Association (GOHBA) 36th annual Housing Design Awards on Saturday.
About 550 attended the annual gala at the Shaw Centre. Astro Design Centre picked up the most trophies – eight among the 51 award categories – mainly for its success in the various kitchen and bath categories.
Greenmark Builders Inc. with Rionox Signature won the Ottawa Citizen People’s Choice Award for “Poolside Serenity”.
Gordon Weima of Gordon Weima Design-Builder received both the Designer of the Year and Custom Builder of the Year Award, while Minto Communities, the Ottawa-area’s largest home builder, received the special achievement award as Production Builder of the Year.
Amsted Design-Build received the Renovator of the Year award.
RND Construction Ltd. with Christopher Simmonds Architect were recognized with the Innovation Award for the Green Custom Home of the year, while Corvinelli Homes was recognized with the award for Green Production Home of the Year.
