OGCA Builder Awards recognize Ontario’s best and unique projects

The Ontario General Contractors Association (OGCA) recognized members’ top projects with 2024 Ontario Builder Awards presented at the OGCA Construction Symposium in Blue Mountain on April 13.

To be eligible, projects must have reached substantial completion between Jan. 1, 2022 and Mar. 1, 2024. Key criteria included aesthetic merit, innovation and effectiveness in design and planning.

This year’s award winners include PCL Constructors recognized for a project at 160 Front Street in Toronto which won in the over $300 million category.

Winners also included:

Up to $5 Million:

  • Gillam Group – Sky Canoe Headquarters, Training Facility and NNLP Virtual Office Facility

$5 Million to $25 Million:

  • Ira McDonald Construction Ltd. – St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church

$25 Million to $75 Million:

  • Collaborative Structures Limited – Waterloo Memorial Recreation Complex (WMRC) Expansion

$75 Million to $150 Million:

  • Eastern Construction Company Limited – T3 Bayside Phase I

$150 Million to $300 Million:

  • PCL Constructors Canada Inc. (Toronto) – Lakeridge Health’s Lakeridge Gardens Long-Term

$25 Million to $75 Million – Environmental:

  • PCL Constructors Canada Inc. (Toronto) – Fairmont Royal York Decarbonization Project

$75 Million to $150 Million – Environmental:

  • Pomerleau – Harmony Commons, University of Toronto, Scarborough

$5 Million to $25 Million – Industrial:

  • Maple Reinders – Bondi Produce

$25 Million to $75 Million – Industrial:

  • Maple Reinders – Dot Foods Distribution Centre

$75 Million to $150 Million – Industrial:

  • Alberici Constructors, Ltd. – General Motors – CAMI Electric Light Commercial Vehicle (eLCV) General Assembly & Body Shop

$150 Million to $300 Million – Industrial:

  • Alberici Constructors, Ltd. – Humber Treatment Plant, South Plant Upgrades

Up to $5 Million – Innovation:

  • Somerville Construction – Legacy Art Project – Terry Fox Memorial Park

$5 Million to $25 Million – Innovation:

  • Collaborative Structures Limited – Conestoga College E-Wing Life Science Lab

$25 Million to $75 Million – Innovation:

  • Canadian Turner Construction Company – Serverfarm TOR2.1 Data Centre

$75 Million to $150 Million – Innovation:

  • Bird Construction – Rapid Delivery Facilities – Thunder Bay and Kenora Prisons

Up to $5 Million – Renovation/Conversion:

  • Ira McDonald Construction Ltd. – Hamilton Golf & Country Club Patio Enhancements

$5 Million to $25 Million – Renovation/Conversion:
