Ontario Construction News (OCN) has announced a new initiative to support the Niagara Children’s Centre through a generous donation campaign. From Sept. 1 to May 31, 2025, OCN will donate $1 from every CSP sale to the NCC.

“My family has been lucky enough to have the support of the Niagara Children’s Centre for over 3 years now for our daughter Aubrey in her journey of navigating Cerebral Palsy,” said OCN Publisher Chase. I cannot think of a more deserving place to support.”

The Niagara Children’s Centre has been a cornerstone of support for children with special needs since its inception in 1952. Originally founded by the May Court Club of St. Catharines as a part-time relief program, the Centre has grown significantly. What began in a parish hall has evolved into a comprehensive facility now located at St. Catharines General Hospital, dedicated to addressing the diverse needs of children and youth in the Niagara Region.

In recent years, NCC has expanded its services to meet growing demand, offering essential therapies such as physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and speech and language services. The Centre also provides specialized programs, including recreation therapy, behavioral consultation, and family support, which are crucial but often not covered by government funding.

Marla Smith highlighted the impact of support from Ontario Construction News.

“We are grateful for Ontario Construction News’ support of Niagara Children’s Centre,” she said. “This support will have a direct impact on the children and families we serve, enabling us to provide essential therapies to more than 6,500 children and youth with physical, developmental, and communicative delays or disabilities.

“Donations will also support specialized programs that are vital to the well-being of our children and their families.”

The timing of the donation campaign aligns with NCC’s upcoming annual Superhero Run, happening Sept. 29 at Brock University. Expected to draw more than 500 participants, funds raised during the run will further the Centre’s mission to help every child reach their full potential and support their families.
