The City of Oshawa has retained Parsons Inc. and launched the Central Oshawa Major Transit Station Area (MTSA) Land Use and Area-specific Transportation Master Plan study.
The study area is centered around the future Central Oshawa GO Station site located at 500 Howard St., bounded by:
- John Street and Eulalie Avenue to the north,
- Ritson Road South to the east,
- Highway 401 to the south, and,
- The Oshawa Creek Valley to the west.
The study team is hosting a Public Information Centre on Feb. 2 from 6 to 8:45 p.m., to provide an opportunity to comment on the background studies for existing conditions and outline next steps.
Two identical 45-minute presentations will be made – at 6:15 p.m. and at 7:30 p.m., each followed by 30 minutes for discussion and questions.
The meeting will be held in-person in the C Wing Committee Room, Oshawa City Hall, 50 Centre St. S., Oshawa (enter from the Main South Entrance and immediately turn right).
It will also be streamed and a link, call-in number and a copy of the presentation will be posted on Connect Oshawa at:Â www.connectoshawa.ca/MTSAStudy.
There are two key components to the Integrated M.T.S.A. Study:
- A Master Land Use and Urban Design Plan to advance appropriate development and intensification within the M.T.S.A. Boundary, in accordance with the Ontario Planning Act
- An Area-specific Transportation Master Plan (T.M.P.) to identify and recommend a preferred transportation option that accommodates future development. The T.M.P. will follow the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (M.C.E.A) process for Master Plans, in accordance with the Environmental Assessment Act.
