New Brain Sciences Building Sunnybrook Campus
Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre (the “Owner”) is seeking Formal Bids for the Brain Sciences Project (the “Project”). The bid documents can be found on www.biddingo.com. Only prequalified General, Mechanical and Electrical Contractors may submit bids for this Tender.
The prequalified General Contractors, prequalified Mechanical Subcontractors, and prequalified Electrical Subcontractors were established via RFSQ SB 2020-0901–Request for Supplier Prequalification for Brain Sciences Project (General, Mechanical and Electrical Contractors & Subcontractors) and said prequalified contractors list can be found on www.biddingo.com. The Project will construct a new building for Mental Health Inpatient and Ambulatory patient care in an open grass area at the Sunnybrook Bayview Campus (2075 Bayview Avenue, Toronto, ON, M4N 3M5) surrounded on three sides by existing buildings E & F Wings. The new building will occupy 115,000 bgsf of new construction, along with renovations to 5,000 bgsf of existing space. Construction will deliver a four-storey structure inclusive of one storey below grade. Construction will also include the structural capacity to accommodate future building growth (one storey at a time if required, to a total eight storey structure plus penthouse (if required) inclusive of one storey below grade). The basement level (below grade) will be all new mechanical and electrical space. The ground and first floor levels will be new Inpatient space. The first and second floor levels house new Ambulatory space. Construction will also redevelop the adjacent Staff Parking Lot #6 (between D and E wings) to change from 54 staff parking spaces to landscaping + short term parking.
A mandatory formal briefing meeting and site tour will be held the week of May 18th 2020. Bidders must bring their own facemasks and any other PPE they deem appropriate. The exact meeting time is To Be Announced and meeting location is To Be Announced. Due to the Covid 19 situation, the mandatory site tour will be provided to Bidders who formally request attendance via email to the Bid Authority before Thursday May 14th at 2:00:00pm Toronto Time. Once all formal requests are received, Sunnybrook will establish the exact meeting times and location, to occur the week of May 18th, 2020. Note that the Bidders will be broken into multiple groups and multiple time slots to ensure social distancing.
