Toronto issues $915.5 million of building permits in July

Toronto issued $915,513,208 of building permits in July, a decline from the $1,233,348,791 of June’s total.

Here are the top five permits, listed in order of recorded value.

$160 million – 1001 Sheppard Ave. E.

Concord Adex is building Concord Park Place: Block 7, a 29 and 24 storey mixed use condo building designed by DIALOG at the southwest corner of Sheppard Avenue E. and Billes Heights in Bay Village, Urban Toronto reports.

$130 million – 160 Front St. W.

PCL Construction is building this 46-storey structural steel-framed commercial office tower for Cadillac Fairview. AS +GG Architecture and B+H Architects have designed the 240-m. tall structure, which includes a heritage building’s façade.1 Blue Jays Way – $100 million

blue jaysWhile the permit for Rogers Centre renovations is set at $100 million, published reports say the overall project will cost the Toronto Blue Jays’ owners upwards of $300 million. The “multi-year, privately funded renovation” will have a “central focus on modernizing the fan experience and building world-class payer facilities,” CITY-TV reported on July 28.

CTV News says the first phase of renovations will start with the 100 level and 200 level outfield. “Those seating areas will see the installation of what the Jays call new “social spaces” with patios, drink rails, bars and viewing platforms,” the broadcaster reported.

$90 million – 357 King St. W.

BDP Quadrangle has designed this 42-storey mixed-use condo building for Great Gulf on the southwest corner of Blue Jays Way and King Street W.

$50 million – 2720 Dundas St. W.

Multiplex is building Junction House: a 9-storey mixed-use building designed by superkül for Slate Asset Management on Dundas Street West between Watkinson Avenue and Old Weston Road, Urban Toronto reports.
