The City of Vaughan is extending two roads in the Yonge-Steeles corridor – Royal Palm Drive from Hilda Avenue to Yonge Street and Powell Road, from Pinewood Drive to Steeles Avenue West
“This bustling Ward 5 community is evolving with the vision to become an attractive, transit-oriented, sustainable urban environment, and as it continues to grow, the City of Vaughan is managing its development. To improve connectivity within the area, provide options for active transportation and support transit initiatives, we’re completing the Yonge-Steeles Corridor Collector Roads Environmental Assessment Study,” the city said in a news release.
The study will determine a plan and preliminary design for the road extensions, identify any impacts to local properties, assess factors like noise, air quality and traffic measures, and more.
A virtual Public Information Session will be held Nov. 7 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., a chance to review recommended design concepts, hear next steps and ask questions directly to the project team. Register to attend by sending an email to
