BCA hosting Rowdy Ride for Mental Health

The Barrie Construction Association (BCA) is hosting the Rowdy Ride for Mental Health on June 18.

This year the event is named to honour Rob Desroches, a long time supporter of the BCA’s annual motorcycle Ride for Charity.

Rob raised thousands of dollars for cancer research and participated in the Ride every year, bringing “the fun to every event,” the BCA writes on its website.

Rob’s nickname was Rowdy and the evet has been named “to honour him and the support he gave over the years.”

The annual Ride for Charity is organized by members of the BCA ad has supported the Canadian Cancer Society, raising over $85,000.

In 2022, the focus switches to youth mental health and all proceeds will go to the local chapter of the Canadian Association for Mental Health.

This year’s ride will take place on Saturday June 18, starting at the Barrie Construction Association office.  Riders will enjoy a four-hour trip through the southern portion of Simcoe County ending at the Loretto Inn & Tavern where lunch will be available for purchase. Free T-shirts are handed out on registration day.

Registration begins at 8 a.m. with the ride beginning at 9 a.m.
