The Burlington Chamber of Commerce and Burlington Hydro are hosting the 2024 ‘Building Safer & Resilient Communities’ Summit on Feb. 8 from 8 to 10:30 a.m.

This event will include two keynote speakers and a panel discussion, including an opportunity for networking and a buffet breakfast.

In this safety summit, the focus will be on community collaboration and resilience to address various safety concerns. We are #workingtogether with the Burlington community to create a safe environment for all and prepare for potential challenges.

”This important event will focus on the idea of community collaboration and resilience to address various safety concerns,” organizers said. “It will also highlight how all members of the community can get involved in creating a safe environment.

Keynote speaker Rob Ellis, founder and president of MySafeWork, became an advocate for health, safety and wellness in the workplace after his son David was killed in a workplace accident in 1999.

“As a former business owner, Rob knows the challenges that companies face in recruiting and retaining the best people. He believes that by partnering with industry leaders to promote positive change, a cultural shift will take place in our communities – a shift that will increase the importance of health, safety, and wellness for all workers.”
