Hamilton Woodward Avenue WTP High Lift Pumping Station Phase 2 Power Systems Upgrades

Detail Of Services: Phase 1 of this project was completed in 2018/2019 and had involved the plant wide power system studies (grounding, load flow, power quality, short circuit, protection coordination and arc flash studies). As a result of these studies, a number of corrective actions have been identified and are to be addressed in Phase 2. The Scope of work includes but is not limited to the following: **Perform Corrective Actions identified in Phase 1 at the following locations: • Low Lift Pumping Station High Voltage Substation: • Filter Building: • High Lift Pumping Station – High Voltage Substation and 4160V Switchgear: **Corrective actions will include but not be limited to the following: • Upgrade bus differential protection scheme in 4160V GE switchgear; • Supply & install new shorting type terminal blocks and FT switches to suit new wiring; • Apply new protection and logic settings to B90 relays and perform relay testing, commissioning and test tripping of relevant breakers on simulating differential fault; • Revise Arc Flash study and provide Arc Flash mitigation for four low voltage buses having incident energy levels above 50 cal/cm2; • Install labels on downstream switchboards mentioning availability of ARMS switches at upstream medium voltage switchgear; • Extend the oil ports of the 2 x 10MVA 13.8kV – 4160V transformers to outside of the transformer enclosure; and • Procure missing kirk keys of two existing 500kVA 4160V-600V transformers of the High Lift Building. Install kirk key interlocking such that the transformers enclosure door cannot be opened before opening the corresponding feeder breaker in the 4160V switchgear.
