Dryden Recreation Centre Expansion Design Build

Detail Of Services: Project Background: On March 19, 2021, the City Dryden formally announced a successful funding application to the Infrastructure Canada Improvement Program for a mechanical retrofit and facility expansion project. The expansion will comprise of a 5000 sq ft, 2 story expansion of the Dryden Recreation Complex. The specific area of expansion will be an extension to the front of the existing Dryden Activity Rink, or commonly known as Pronger Rink. The expansion will see the development of four (4) arena dressing rooms complete with dedicated shower and toilet facilities for each dressing room. The second floor of the facility will consist of meeting space, storage space, 2 fully accessible washrooms and windows facing the ice surface and Whyte Avenue. The expanded facility will also include an elevator, as well as two stair wells and service rooms for the elevator and building mechanical systems. Project Objectives: The City invites Proposals for the design build construction work (the “Works”) of the expansion of the Dryden Recreation Centre. The Work generally includes but is not limited to: The Design Build of a 2-story addition to the Dryden Recreation Centre located at 82 Whyte Avenue, Dryden ON complete with lighting, finishes, fixtures, elevator system and mechanical systems. The addition shall be designed to meet or exceed the highest standard of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act. All Works in the design build contract for the main floor, including changerooms shall be completed by October 31, 2023, in time for the installation of the artificial ice in the Activity/Pronger Rink.
