Detail Of Services: The St. Lawrence Parks Commission (“SLPC”) is seeking a qualified contractor to repair the miniature train track at Upper Canada Village. Upper Canada Village operates and maintains a miniature train on narrow-gauge tracks as a people mover between several of its attractions. The track is approximately 1.5km in length and operates on a gauge similar to that used in mining applications. The scope of work will include but not limited to the following: • Supply and install 2+ inch clear aggregate (ballast) in all areas of repair • Destress existing track where required• Remove excess rail and supply and install expansion joint plates where required • Supply and install 8’+ rail ties at crossings and locations where required • Remove existing end-of-life ties and install SLPC supplied solid wood ties where required • Supply and install suitable rail spikes • Remove switch to long track and install straight through track • Remove 65’ of long track that ties into the short track • Adjust entirety of track to proper gauge tolerance

The branch of roadway which buses access was replaced in 2021 however the portion from the bus lane to Parking lot P1 (main parking area) is the subject of this RFT. The asphalt pavement and portions of the underlaying base have failed and are in need of renewal. The work will be at the start of the branch/ring road and extend to Parking Lot P1. While the work on the circular ring road is taking place, vehicles will be asked to access parking lot P1 from Country Club Drive to allow for this work to take place interrupted and as quickly as possible. The main entrance off of Portsmouth will be left open for buses, emergency vehicles and drop offs and the successful proponent will need to restrict access to their work area.
