Ontario is looking for ways to encourage young people to consider trades careers and an online survey is the latest tool.

The survey targets youth, employers, educators, organizations and parents with specific questions geared to each group. It is available online until Feb. 26 and takes about 20 minutes to complete.

Questions were devised by one of three youth advisers appointed last year by the Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development. At the time, the ministry statement said the new positions would engage with youth and partners to create supportive pathways into skilled trade careers.

The survey is open to anyone who wants to provide input into the skilled trades.

A report on survey results will be presented to the government in April.
