Inquests scheduled into two construction site deaths

Ontario’s Coroner’s office will hold inquests into fatal incidents that happened at construction sites in Milton and Trenton.

Dr. Kenneth Peckham, Regional Supervising Coroner for Central Region, Central West Office, announced that an inquest will be held into the death of Ismet Dakaj.

Ismet Dakaj, a 46-year-old construction worker, was killed on June 27, 2014, when he was struck by a dump truck at a worksite located at Derry Road and Bronte Road in Milton.

Approximately eight witnesses will be heard from over three days. The Dakai inquest will start at 9 a.m. on June 8 via video conference and can be viewed here.

An inquest has also been scheduled into the death of Bradley Wright. The 55-year-old died on April 2, 2018, as a result of injuries sustained while working at a subdivision construction site in Trenton.

The Wright inquest is expected to last three days and will hear from approximately seven witnesses starting at 9 a.m. on Wed., June 23 via video conference.
