The Ontario Road Builders’ Association (ORBA) has outlined its course program for the association’s 13th Annual Road Building Academy Feb. 24 to 28, 2020 at the BMO Institute for Learning in Scarborough.
This year ORBA says it is partnering with the Asphalt Institute (AI), offering a two-day Paving Inspector course covering fundamental information that every asphalt plant mix roadway inspector should know. Before now, this course was solely available in the U.S. and will be the only course of its kind available in Canada.
“AI has over 100 years of experience in asphalt technology,” said Doubra Ambaiowei, ORBA technical director. “The Paving Instructor Course offers participants the advantage of learning from the top source of industry expertise in the world.”
The 2020 Academy program will feature 25 courses, including 11 new courses covering management, leadership, business practice, health and safety and legal topics relevant to the road building industry.
“ORBA’s Road Building Academy has provided the industry a robust array of learning opportunities over the past 13 years to help https://buyzolpideminsomnia.com raise the bar of overall quality in the road building industry,” Bryan Hocking, ORBA chief operating officer, said in a statement. “This year we are especially pleased to be partnering with AI in debuting the Paving Inspector Course, as a part of the Road Building Academy, in Canada.”
Companies considering registering for the Academy are encouraged to take advantage of the Canada-Ontario Job Grants Program, which gives direct financial support for employee training. Funding is available to small, medium and large businesses planning to deliver short-term training to employees.
All ORBA Road Building Academy courses are eligible for funding. Employers are eligible for up to $10,000 in government support per person for training cost.
