The award-winning Market Parkade is a brand new six storey, 500-space parking within the core of downtown Guelph. The parkade also features new secure bicycle storage facility for 40 bikes and city-owned electric vehicle charging stations. It also has solar panels installed on the roof capable of producing 240,000 KwH of energy annually.
This project represents a $22-million investment in core infrastructure and parking services for City of Guelph.
Construction started in April 2018 and completed in October 2019. Major stakeholders were City of Guelph (owner), Newton Group (design builder) and James Fryett Architect Inc. (architect).
