There’s still time to get involved in BCA’s ‘Project Generosity’

Bid deadline extended to Oct. 27

When Camphill Communities Ontario was gifted a bungalow in south Barrie, they turned to the Barrie Construction Association (BCA) board of directors for help with needed renovations.

Upgrades will make the house amenable for two supported individuals. This home is conveniently located in the Sophia Creek neighborhood of Barrie and it requires:

  • new windows
  • new flooring
  • new plumbing
  • HVAC upgrades
  • new kitchen cabinets
  • drywall repairs
  • painting
  • electrical upgrades

BCA members that would like to be involved in the renovation of the home are being invited to submit their best pricing and/or gifts in kind.

Bids close Oct. 27 at 2 p.m. and the project is scheduled to start Nov. 1 A site walkthrough will be held Oct. 23 at 10 a.m. at 42 Park St. in Barrie.

Online bids are being accepted at  kdownes@camphillfoundation.ca

Participating companies will receive extensive media coverage during the project and company names and logos will be included on signage at the project site and on the BCA’s website.

“We would greatly appreciate any consideration you could give to assist us in this community endeavour,” the BCA said in a statement. “BCA members not only build and rebuild our community physically, they also work towards improving the overall health of our community by supporting charities and other organizations.”
