Twin QEW bridge construction completed over Credit River

A new twin bridge over the Credit River on the QEW is now open, a significant milestone in the QEW Credit River Improvement project.

The project extends approximately 2.6 km long from west of Hurontario Street to west of Mississauga Road in the City of Mississauga, Region of Peel.

  • Construction a new twin bridge north of the existing Credit River Bridge;
  • Rehabilitation of the existing Credit River Bridge;
  • Widening and improving the QEW;
  • Replacing the Mississauga Road overpass;
  • Improving/reconfiguring the Mississauga Road interchange; and
  • Constructing Active Transportation crossings (and associated trail infrastructure) at the QEW and over the Credit River, for the City of Mississauga

EllisDon and Coco Paving (EDCO) has been selected by the Ministry of Transportation (MTO) and Infrastructure Ontario (IO) to design, build and finance the QEW/Credit River Improvement project under a Public Private Partnership (P3).

The project is being completed through a Design-Build, Finance project delivery. A preliminary design for the Project was previously completed in 2013 and the current detail design and construction is following the approved planning process for a Group ‘B’ project under the MTO Class EA for Provincial Transportation Facilities (2000).
