The exterior masonry chimney requires restoration work to ensure it is structurally sound and weatherproof. The scope of work includes the following:• All bricks must be replaced where delamination, spalling and deterioration are noted;• Replacement brick must be of a type acceptable to the Town closely resembling existing;• Mortar must be replaced and repointed from the masonry head and bed joints to ensure the structural soundness;• The chimney cap must be repaired to ensure resistance to moisture;• Chimney flashings and sealant (both step and counter flashing) must be installed in accordance with Ontario Building Code requirements to prevent the infiltration of water.• Labour day- all masonry to be completed at the latest to avoid degradation from frost.

DCC Trenton RHUs Minor Recap – CC Interior Retrofit
